Portrait photography gives a unique and insightful position. With portraiture a photographer has a chance to capture the heart and soul of their subject, sometimes in ways never before seen. This is a diverse and multi-layered ability which is unique in photography for its intimacy. Portrait is a powerful medium for displaying the inner life of a person. I personally enjoy the creativity of working one on one with a photographic subject, creating excellent images that can last a lifetime.
